Changing oil filters on a Series engine has always been a pain; oil leaking and dripping on the floor, although I carefully placed an container under the engine I still ended up with black patches on the garage floor, not to mention those on my hands and clothes.
I was so fed-up with this that I decided to look for an oil filter house that could take a more modern type of spin-on oil filter. After some
research I came up with this simple item that replaces the original oil filter unit. It looks similar to the original item but most important, the filter is vertical, which keeps the oil in the filter and not draining back into the sump when the engine is
turned off.
Replaces original filter house but looking very similar
Keeps oil filter vertical to prevent drain to sump
Uses the same oil filter as other later types of Land Rover diesel engines (ERR3340)
The conversion kit comes with filter house + gasket & oil filter
Now you can simply spin-on (and off) standard Land Rover oil filters.
Maintenance has become easy and less messy!
